print server appliance daylight saving time firmware patch 2007 for HP 4200 Appliance Type: Patch March,­ 2007 Summary On August 8,­ 2005,­ the Energy Policy Act of 2005 was signed changing the dates for Daylight Saving Time in the U.­S.­ Beginning in 2007,­ DST will begin on the second Sunday in March and end the first Sunday in November.­ With the release of this firmware patch,­ "DST_­update_­v2.­hp" the HP Print Server Appliance will be compliant with the new DST rules for the following time zones and or regions.­ Alaska Central Time( US &­ Canada) Indiana Mexico City Mountain Time ( US &­ Canada) Pacific Time ( US &­ Canada) Newfoundland Hawaii Other regions and time zones are not affected.­ Supported models and firmware The DST firmware patch will be supported on the following firmware versions of the PSA firmware 2.­5.­143 (current) 2.­4.­336 The following PSA models are supported provided they are running the firmware versions listed above… PSA 4000 PSA 4200 PSA 4250 If you have an earlier version of firmware,­ please upgrade to the latest version prior to applying the patch.­ Firmware patch installation To install the firmware patch,­ download it from http:/­/­www.­hp.­com/­go/­psa Connect to your PSA via a web browser Click on the Upgrade tab on the left side of the EWS main page Enter the path to the downloaded file called DST_­update_­v2.­hp or click Browse and go to the location where the firmware patch was copied.­ Click Install upgrade and allow the firmware to be installed on the PSA.­ Testing In the U.­S.­,­ clocks change at 2:00 a.­m.­ local time.­ In spring,­ clocks spring forward from 1:59 a.­m.­ to 3:00 a.­m.­; in fall,­ clocks fall back from 1:59 a.­m.­ to 1:00 a.­m To test the patch,­ change the time and date of the PSA through the Date and Time button on the main page of the EWS to March 11th,­ or November 4th 1:59:00am and continue to monitor the time and date for one minute.­ You will see that at 2:00am,­ the time will jump to 3:00am in March,­ and fall back to 2:00 am in the Fall.­ Thank you Hewlett-Packard Imaging and Printing
